Why do some black women try to act tough like a man?

I'm a black woman myself and where I'm from I hear so many black female talk with a manly edge in their voice like they're ready to pounce on someone like a pitbull. im not saying that we should be weaklings but you don't have to act like a man just to prove you are tough. it makes them look unattractive and stupid.
