a better question might be, who cares? it sounds like he's trying to keep you on the hook either of something on the side, or so he has something to fall back on. he 'dated,' you for months but didn't want a relationship but the moment you 'broke up,' with him he was in one and he's still talking to you like nothing happened. probably just wanted in your pants and you're better off without him.
