Are werewolves immune from sunlight?

Okay first off I don't think werewolves are real and no I don't want to turn into one(I've seen questions on here asking that lol). In folklore, myths, movies, and things like that can werewolves go out into the sunlight? And can they only transform with a full moon? Just a random question out of curiosity because I was watching something but missed most of it because I had to step out.
